Definition of Work: This position will report to the Senior Human Resources Consultant. The incumbent will be responsible for providing support to various programs and departments of Western Health in all areas of Human Resources such as recruitment, labour/employee relations, and pensions and benefits. Included in these responsibilities is the coordination of labour management/professional practice meetings, collective agreement administration and interpretation, grievance administration, discipline, mediation and arbitration, negotiations, workplace investigations, change management, policy and program development, staffing, recruitment and selection, salary and benefits administration, position classification and control, and other special projects as required. The incumbent will be required to work cooperatively with employees, managers, union representatives, and other members of the Human Resources team.

Required Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a university degree in Business Administration/Commerce, or other related degree, preferably with major course work in Human Resources. Training in recruitment and retention techniques and strategies, mediation or alternate dispute resolution processes, and harassment investigations is considered an asset. A working knowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheeting and database applications is required, and knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems in a business setting is an asset. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with people in all departments of this organization and with external organizations. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.

PLEASE NOTE: The candidate may be required to travel throughout the region on a regular basis. The use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.

Hours of Work: 70 Hours per pay period; 0830-1630 hours, 0800-1600 or 0900-1700
Monday to Friday (Flexible hours outside those above may be required)
Salary Scale: $59,483.00 to $77,328.00 per Annum
