To provide safe individualized home support to clients
- To provide personal and practical care services for people with a wide range of illnesses and disabilities
- To assist clients with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and toileting when necessary
- To assist clients with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence; and assist clients in the use of aids and personal equipment
- To help promote mental and physical activity
- To make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning and emptying commodes
- To launder client's clothing
- To set and serve meals; feed clients if required and assist those in need; prepare meals and wash up; tidy and clear away
- To conform to all policies, procedures and guidelines
- To be available for work
- To carry out accurately & competently, any instructions from the agency, adhering to the service plan of each client
- To actively talk and listen to the client, allowing for personal choice in their own home
- To ensure all home visits are as scheduled and that timesheets are signed by all clients; verifying hours of service provided
- To return all relevant paperwork to the office where deemed necessary by the agency
- To document clearly and concisely as per agency policy
- To work only within agency policy regarding the handling of clients' finances, ensuring accurate documentation and receipting of any transactions
- To ensure full compliance with infection control procedures following the agency's policy
- To report and record any accident or incident which may occur รข" no matter how minor
- To report back to the agency any aspect of the client's care that you feel is concerning
- To report immediately to management any noticeable changes in health, behavior or circumstances of clients; maintaining the client's right to privacy and confidentiality
- To follow service care plans for each client as prescribed by the client's case manager
- To be aware of tasks and activities that MUST NOT be completed as part of care duties. Only when delegation of function is completed with a Registered Nurse, a worker is permitted to nursing functions. Otherwise it is strictly prohibited
- To advise supervisors and / or managers of any perceived problems or difficulties experienced in relation to home support services
- To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required
- To participate in training and regular in-service training
- To make yourself available so that your work may be monitored. A performance appraisal will be completed yearly
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
Salary: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
